1. Column layout
(1) The columns should be laid out according to the design drawings, and distance measurement and positioning should be carried out with bridges, channels, culverts, median strip openings, overpasses, level crossings, etc. as control points
(2) When laying out the columns, the spacing can be adjusted using adjustment sections, and the allocation method can be used to handle the number of spacing zeros
(3) After the column layout, the foundation condition of each column position should be investigated In case of underground communication pipelines, drainage pipes, or insufficient burial depth at the top of culverts, the position of certain columns should be adjusted and the fixing method of columns should be changed
2. Column installation
(1) The installation of columns should be consistent with the design drawings and coordinated with the road alignment
(2) The pillar should be firmly buried in the soil to the design depth and perpendicular to the road surface
(3) On general road sections, columns can be constructed using the method of driving, and precise positioning should be carried out during construction When driving too deep, the column should not be partially pulled out for correction. It must be completely pulled out and re driven after the foundation is compacted
(4) When the driving method cannot be used for construction, the excavation method can be used to bury the column barbed wire protective net When burying columns, the backfill soil should be made of good materials and compacted in layers (each layer should not exceed 15cm in thickness), and the compaction degree of the backfill soil should not be less than that of the adjacent undisturbed soil Pillar pits in rocks should be backfilled with granular materials and compacted
(5) The column can be installed using drilling method After positioning the column, it should be backfilled with the same material as the roadbed and compacted layer by layer
(6) When setting up columns on road sections with pavement, the column pits from the roadbed to 5cm below the surface layer should be backfilled with the same material as the roadbed and compacted layer by layer. The remaining part should be backfilled with the same material as the pavement and compacted
(7) After the column is installed in place, it should form a smooth linear shape in both horizontal and vertical directions
(8) The transition section and end columns of the guardrail should be installed according to the coordinates specified in the design
3. Installation of cross beams, anti blocking blocks, and end caps
(1) A central median iron guardrail with a horizontal partition beam is installed after the column is accurately positioned Before installing the corrugated beam, the connecting bolts between the crossbeam and the column should not be tightened too early. The bolts can only be tightened after the crossbeam and corrugated beam are accurately in place
(2) The anti blocking block is fixed between the corrugated beam and the column by connecting bolts Before tightening the connecting bolts, adjust the blocking block to ensure it is accurately in place
(3) The end beam at the opening of the median strip should be connected to the guardrail of the standard section of the median strip End beams should be installed and anchored at the opening of roadside guardrails End anchoring mainly includes steel wire rope anchoring components and concrete foundations After the design strength of the end foundation concrete reaches 50%, bolts or fixed cables can be tightened
